Ford Territory is a compact crossover built in China. It was a year ago that Ford promised to sell it in the global market and now it is coming to South America.
Ford Territory is actually built based on the Jiangling Yusheng 330. It is now available in Brazil and Argentina with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine from EcoBoost series. The engine can produce 148 hp and 225 nm in Brazilian edition and 143 hp and 225 nm of torque in the Argentinian version. For both markets, the engine is connected to a CVT automatic transmission with 8 simulated gears. Ford Territory is not a four-wheel drive car and the engine power goes only to the front wheels.
In terms of size, the Territory is a compact CUV; it is 4,580 mm long, 1,936 mm wide and has the wheelbase of 2,716 mm. Ford claims that the Territory has the best in class interior space.
Standard equipment for Ford Territory includes panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, heated and ventilated front seats, wireless smartphone charging pad, 10-inch digital instrument cluster, 10.1-inch infotainment screen and Apple CarPlay.
From the safety side, Ford Territory comes standard with 6 airbags, ESP, transition control system, Hill Start Assist, tire pressure monitoring system, electrochromic rearview mirror and four-wheel disc brakes with anti-lock system. Buyers also can order adaptive cruise control, automatic braking system, lane departure system, blind-spot alert, automatic LED headlights and auto park system.
Ford Territory is built in China and it is available in Brazil with the base price of $30,825 and $41,600 for Argentina.
