Geely Achieves Record-Breaking Sales in 2023, Sets Ambitious Targets for 2024

In the year 2023, Geely, the renowned automotive manufacturer, surpassed expectations by achieving a significant year-on-year increase in vehicle sales, reaching a total of 1,686,516 units. This marked an 18% rise from the previous year and exceeded the initial annual sales target of 1.65 million vehicles. Notably, the company's new energy vehicle (NEV) segment played a pivotal role in this success, with 487,461 NEVs sold, reflecting a remarkable 48% year-on-year increase. This NEV figure constituted nearly one-third of Geely's total annual sales and demonstrated sustained positive growth for 11 consecutive months.

Looking ahead to 2024, Geely has set an ambitious sales target of 1.9 million vehicles, with a specific focus on achieving a 66% growth rate in the NEV category. This forward-looking strategy aligns with Geely's commitment to advancing sustainable and electric mobility solutions.

Breaking down the sales performance by brand, the Geely brand itself achieved cumulative sales of 1,309,580 vehicles in 2023, reflecting a substantial 16% year-on-year increase. Noteworthy contributions came from the Geely Galaxy series, comprising the L7 PHEV SUV and L6 PHEV sedan, which collectively sold 83,497 units within seven months of its launch. Additionally, the Geely Geometry series achieved a cumulative sales volume of 191,346 units, marking a commendable 28% year-on-year increase.

The Lynk & Co brand contributed significantly to Geely's overall success, selling 220,250 vehicles annually, marking a 22% year-on-year increase. In December alone, Lynk & Co recorded sales of 25,695 units, reflecting a notable 17% year-on-year increase. The brand's international footprint expanded with the opening of 11 stores across six European countries by the end of December.

Zeekr, Geely's innovative electric vehicle brand, witnessed a remarkable cumulative delivery volume of 118,685 vehicles in 2023, translating to a notable 65% year-on-year increase. Zeekr's commitment to infrastructure development was evident, with a total of 432 charging stations already established by the end of December. The brand aims to further enhance its charging infrastructure, targeting 1,000 stations in 2024 and an impressive 10,000 by 2026.

Livan, recognized for its innovative battery swap technology, achieved cumulative annual sales of 38,001 vehicles, including 3,900 units sold in December. In 2023, Livan introduced the Livan 7 SUV and inaugurated a flagship store in Azerbaijan, showcasing the brand's commitment to innovation and expansion.

Geely's global reach extended beyond domestic borders, with the export of 274,101 vehicles overseas, reflecting a substantial 38% year-on-year increase. The company continued its strategic deployment in various regions, establishing a significant presence in the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, Africa, Latin America, and Pan-Europe. Geely's global footprint includes 532 sales and service outlets spread across 70 countries, with a diverse portfolio of 10 products launched in 43 countries. The establishment of a fourth subsidiary in the Mexican market further underscores Geely's commitment to deepening its foothold in the Latin American automotive landscape.
