Baojun is a sub-brand owned by the SAIC-GM-Wuling joint venture group and recently launched two new models for the Chinese market. One of the new cars is a liftback called Baojun RC-5 and the other is a station wagon named Baojun RC-5W.
Both cars have naturally aspirated 1.5-liter petrol engine with 98 hp, buyers can order a turbocharged variant of this engine with 145 hp. Both models come standard with a 6-speed manual gearbox while a 6-speed automatic is also available as an extra-cost option.
GM RC-5 and RC-5W have a very distinct and modern design while the design in the front looks exactly similar for both cars but they are different at the back.
Inside the cabin, GM new cars feature two big screens, wireless smartphone charging pad, memory seats and dynamic turn signals.
GM RC-5 and RC-5W also come standard with 19 advanced driver assistance systems with high-resolution camera and millimeter-wave radar that can detect objects 160 meters.
The most interesting thing about GM new models is their pricing which looks very cheap for buyers. Local pricing for the Baojun RC-5 starts from $8,600 and $10,490 for the Baojun RC-5W wagon.
