Great Wall introduced a new sport pickup truck called the Cannon Baja Snake. The Baja Snake version, based on the company's Cannon/Pao pickup truck, gets an air snorkel, lift pack, durable fender flares, and an intimidating mesh grille that makes the Snake appear like it's scowling at you – or maybe wearing grizzly, gravel-voiced 1980s actor, Sam Elliot's mustache.
The Cannon's 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine produces 188 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque. This is, by the way, the same powertrain used in the Ranger Raptor. nitrogen-filled Fox Racing shocks, 14 degrees of damping assistance, 2-inches of additional ground clearance, and knobby Toyo tires are included. There are smatterings of Alcantara in the cabin, but no Shelby logos.
As far as we can see, the Baja Snake is merely influenced by Shelby and the Shelby Raptor, and that is the extent of the connection. We've reached out to Shelby for guidance and will update you as soon as we receive a response.
