The Austrian KTM and the Australian company H2X Global collaborated to develop a revolutionary van idea that aims to lower the cost of producing hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles. The H2X Darling was displayed with several interior combinations in van, truck, and taxi body types. It is claimed that the new platform will lower production costs while increasing flexibility and lowering maintenance costs.

The latest concept, which included sliding doors, a wraparound windshield, typical van proportions, and trick LEDs on both ends, was only ever displayed in digital representations.

The H2X Darling is the company's second project, after the 2021 Warrego hydrogen pickup, which was modeled after the Ford Ranger of the previous generation. The lightweight Smart Chassis architecture, which was created in partnership with KTM, serves as the foundation for the LCV. The platform's objective was to lower production costs while maintaining flexibility and lower maintenance costs because of its more straightforward electric drivetrain.

There were three length possibilities for the van: 4,670 mm, 4,903 mm, and 5,324 mm. A cargo capacity of 162.4 cubic feet, 180.1 cubic feet, or 204.8 cubic feet is available for the three body lengths. There is a 3.5-ton maximum cargo capacity and a 1,000–2,550 kg towable weight range.

Although H2X Global would not disclose the hydrogen fuel cell's characteristics, it did guarantee a cruising range of more than 400 kilometers between recharging stops. Additionally, the ADAS sensors and 5G connectivity are included in the passenger-friendly cab version.
