Herrod Performance is an Australian tuner and it revealed its latest tuning project based on the latest generation of Ford Mustang GT. The output level of this upgraded Mustang is even more than the most powerful stock Mustang in the market which is the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500.
Herrod Performance named their car as the SM17 Mustang and it features a 5.0-liter V8 engine with a big supercharger from Whipple. Alongside the supercharger, the tuner used a new injection system supplied by Bosch and a high-flow intercooler pump. As a result, the output now reaches 775 hp and 810 nm. Buyers also can choose between 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.
Other highlights are the stainless steel exhaust system with active exhaust control, adjustable sway bars, 20-inch alloy wheels, Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, revised front bumper, front splitter, an aftermarket hood and a rear wing.
While the Ford Mustang GT costs at least US$46,085 in the Australian market, adding a Herrod Performance tuning kit to the car can cost near US$35k. While this is not a cheap offer at all but still cheaper than a Shelby GT500 with a base price of US$251k in Australia.
