It was couple of days ago when we announced that Lada cars will be available in Iranian market and now the Russian company has announced that the old-fashioned Niva is getting some updates and tech for the 2024 model.
The current Niva was produced by Russian automaker AvtoVAZ in 1977; it was previously available with ABS. But after Russia's conflict with Ukraine intensified, sanctions against it compelled it to abandon the feature. Since mid-2022, it has been constructed without airbags or ABS.
For the 2024 model year, the Niva Legend has received additional updates. The engine of the off-roader has been modified to comply with Euro 5 standards. It's still far behind most modern engines, but considering the outgoing model was constructed to the 1996-introduced Euro 2 standard, that's quite an upgrade. The Niva Legend was upgraded, and as a result, its starting price increased from $9,100 to $10,200.
There have also been some updates made to the more contemporary Lada Niva Travel. Along with the updated ABS, it also has two-tone alloy wheels, cruise control, a trip computer, and a backlit instrument cluster. This model's starting price has also increased, going from $13,200 to $13,400, but considering that ABS and a few other minor updates are included, the slight price increase seems well worth it.
