Lexus has made a significant move to make its electric vehicle, the RZ, more accessible to a wider range of buyers. For the 2025 model year, the starting price has been slashed by a substantial $11,200, bringing it down to $43,975. This price reduction positions the RZ as one of the most affordable new Lexus vehicles currently available.
To achieve this price cut, Lexus has introduced a new base trim level, the RZ 300e Standard. This entry-level model omits several features found in higher trims, such as ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, and advanced driver-assistance systems. However, it retains essential amenities like heated seats, a premium audio system, and a comprehensive suite of safety features.
The powertrain and range remain unchanged across all RZ trims. The single-motor RZ 300e delivers 201 horsepower to the front wheels, while the dual-motor RZ 450e offers 308 horsepower. Both models utilize a 72.8-kWh battery pack, with the RZ 300e achieving an EPA-estimated range of 266 miles on 18-inch wheels. The RZ 450e's range is slightly lower, estimated at 220 miles with 18-inch wheels and dropping further to 196 miles with optional 20-inch wheels.
For buyers who prioritize luxury features, the higher trims of the 2025 RZ also receive significant price reductions of $7,000. This means that even the top-tier models are now priced below $60,000, making them more competitive in the premium electric vehicle segment.
With these substantial price cuts, the Lexus RZ becomes a compelling option for consumers seeking an electric vehicle with a premium badge and a competitive price point. It is also likely that Toyota will follow suit with similar price reductions for the related bZ4X electric SUV.
