Lexus Show Concept EV As LFA Successor

Toyota and Lexus unveiled a slew of upcoming cars in December, including an all-electric sports car that will serve as the spiritual successor to the Lexus LFA. With a fresh series of photographs, Lexus now provides a clearer look at the vehicle.

Lexus does not refer to this car as a concept. In fact, it hasn't been given an official name yet. The premium brand simply refers to it as a future electric sports vehicle, or a next-generation sports car, depending on your preference.

According to the company, the car represents the future of Lexus and will be capable of reaching 100 km/h in the low two-second range. Because of the likely solid-state batteries, it will also have a range of 700 kilometers.

The vehicle is part of a larger portfolio that Lexus aims to introduce by 2030 as part of its electrified brand strategy.

Lexus previously stated that the upcoming electric sports vehicle will be based on the LFA. These photos show that the automobile surely looks the part. When seen from the side, the two-seater is surprisingly long and low, giving it a Toyota Supra impression. The steeply racked backside lacks a rear glass, implying that the driver sees what's behind him using cameras.

Lexus is pushing ahead with its electrification strategy, with the goal of having a diverse range of electric vehicles on the market by 2030.
