As the Lotus Emira approaches its fourth anniversary next month, the iconic British sports car is receiving a comprehensive refresh for the 2026 model year. With a focus on keeping the lineup exciting and competitive, Lotus has announced a series of updates, including the debut of an all-new variant—the Emira V6 SE—alongside a broader range of enhancements aimed at improving performance, comfort, and customization.
The highlight of the announcement is the Emira V6 SE, which follows in the footsteps of the Turbo SE but brings a more powerful engine to the table. This model is equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 400 horsepower, giving it serious performance credentials. Buyers can choose between a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission, both capable of propelling the car from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds. Although the engine is shared with the standard Emira V6, the SE version stands out with its revised suspension system. This includes retuned dampers and selectable Tour and Sport driving modes, as well as subtle tweaks to wheel alignment for sharper cornering and improved ride quality.
Aesthetically, the V6 SE makes a strong visual statement. It comes standard in Zinc Grey with black accents and 20-inch forged alloy wheels, paired with red brake calipers. The cabin is equally performance-focused, featuring Alcantara upholstery, metal sport pedals, and an array of customization options. Buyers can select from 15 exterior colors, four brake caliper finishes, eight wheel styles, and seven distinct interior themes, making the Emira one of the most customizable cars in its segment. Pricing for the V6 SE starts at £96,500 in the UK and €117,500 in Germany, though Lotus has yet to confirm U.S. availability.
For those seeking a more budget-friendly option, the new Emira Turbo offers a compelling entry point into the lineup. Priced from £79,500 in the UK and €97,500 in Germany, it features a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine sourced from Mercedes-AMG. Although detuned to 360 horsepower, it still delivers solid performance with a 0–100 km/h sprint time of 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 275 km/h. It also comes well-equipped, boasting 12-way power seats, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 12.3-inch infotainment display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Advanced safety features such as Autonomous Emergency Braking, Traffic Sign Recognition, Blind Spot Warning, and Fatigue Detection come standard.
Beyond these new variants, Lotus has introduced performance and comfort improvements across the Emira range. Enhancements include a redesigned cooling system that reroutes lines to improve airflow to the radiator and transmission oil cooler, which not only boosts cooling efficiency but also reduces weight. In addition, the air conditioning system has been recalibrated for better temperature control in hot climates, while the engine thermostat’s opening temperature has been raised for improved cabin heating. The dual-clutch transmission has also been fine-tuned for faster and smoother gear shifts, offering a more engaging driving experience.
Completing the update are two fresh exterior paint options—EOS Green and Purple Haze metallic—along with the optional Racing Line design package for SE models. This adds bold styling touches like colorful pinstripes, high-gloss black wheels, special badges, and interior upgrades, giving enthusiasts another way to personalize their Emira.
