For transportation system it doesn’t matter who the weather condition is, they have just one duty, to deliver the good safe and in time. By following the new aim for less emission in Europe, Mercedes-Benz has started the journey of its E-trucks, and now its on the way of the snow tests.
As company reports, the Mercedes-Benz engineers, are doing the in-depth series of different tests on the Swabian Jura on the eActros and the eEconic in the freezing winter of this year. in these series of tests some factors like the batteries and the electrical powertrain are on the radar. The other features like the thermal and energy management systems are already tested.
The systems which have to keep the powertrain and driver’s cab are working under safe temperature condition, are part of these tests too. The eActros from 2018 is passing the testes in different conditions like wind and weather as a prototype in customer operations. And now by the latest test, eActros and eEconic are ready to harsh into winter.
This year we would be the first humans that see the electronic heavy-duty trucks on the road, as Mercedes as announced the distribution date. Also, we should accept some differs in the last eActros. Be prepared for some alter in the range, drive power and safety. And when it comes to the eEconic low-floor truck for municipal operations next year is its year. the first tests by customers are currently on plan. To make eEconic more environmentally friendly, the materials are also from the waste-collection vehicle in urban waste-management applications.
