Mitsubishi is gearing up to unveil the facelifted Outlander in the United States on February 24th, with deliveries expected to commence shortly after. While the automaker has been tight-lipped about the specifics, they have released a trio of images showcasing the refreshed interior.
The interior of the 2024 Outlander retains its familiar layout but boasts a redesigned center console with repositioned cup holders. Mitsubishi has also introduced new interior color options and upgraded features, including a premium Yamaha audio system and the brand's inaugural integration of SiriusXM's 360L satellite-streaming service. Additionally, the company promises revised styling and improved driving dynamics.
While full details will be revealed early next year, we can expect the US-spec model to closely mirror its European counterpart. This implies subtle exterior tweaks, such as a revised grille, updated lighting units, and a fresh color palette. Interior refinements are also anticipated, including modified bumpers, enhanced seat comfort, and reduced noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH).
Beneath the surface, the plug-in hybrid variant of the 2024 Outlander will benefit from a larger 22.7 kWh battery pack and an upsized fuel tank. This, coupled with a revised suspension, new tires, and a power boost to 302 hp, promises a more dynamic and efficient driving experience.
The current 2023 Outlander, starting at $28,395, is Mitsubishi's top-selling model in the United States, with 11,138 units sold in the third quarter of 2023. An additional 2,279 plug-in hybrid variants were also sold during this period. However, it appears that the updated plug-in hybrid version won't make its US debut until the 2026 model year.
