New Engines Are Available For The Seat Leon And Cupra Leon

The 1.5-liter or 2.0-liter TSI petrol engines are now available for both the Seat Leon and Cupra Leon. The Seat Leon's hot hatch twin, the Cupra Leon, boasts unique technical features. Since you can get a Cupra Leon in the UK with the standard Seat Leon engine, there is now an overlap between the siblings' first offered powertrain options.

The entry-level 1.5 TSI, which produces 148 horsepower when paired with a six-speed manual or a seven-speed DSG transmission, as well as a weaker 2.0 TSI, which produces 187 horsepower when paired only with the DSG, have now been added to the Cupra lineup. With the exception of the plug-in hybrid, the 2.0 TSI in the Cupra Leon was capable of producing 242, 296, or up to 306 horsepower in the Sportstourer 4Drive.

The flagship Seat Leon eHybrid, which generates 201 hp, outperforms the base Cupra Leon's 1.5 TSI's 148 horsepower.

18-inch alloy wheels, LED illumination, twin exhaust pipes, the largest 12-inch infotainment, Cupra drive profile option, and a variety of ADAS, including predictive and adaptive cruise control, are all included as standard equipment.

Beginning in early October, the entry-level Cupra Leon models will be offered in the UK. With the 1.5 TSI and the 2.0 TSI, Cupra will offer both the hatchback and estate body styles.
