In 2025, the Ram truck lineup will appear much different. For the time being, Ram is holding onto the TRX badge, and the carmaker will provide more information on the RHO when it launches. The carmaker unveiled the Ram 1500 RHO, a new trim for the model today.
The RHO is purportedly similar to the TRX, except instead of the 702-horsepower supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi V8, it is equipped with a 540-horse Hurricane engine. It has the 3.0-liter Hurricane engine, which produces 540 horsepower. Although the truck's 702-hp twin-turbo straight-six isn't as strong as the TRX's, it should nonetheless be just as competent.
In Ram's portfolio of sport-oriented trucks, the RHO truck will slot above the Warlock and Rebel, catering to a different clientele than the TRX. It will probably be less expensive and have less horsepower than the current high-performance pickup.
The end of the TRX is hardly a surprise. In August, Ram announced the TRX Final Edition, signaling the demise of the powerful muscle truck. It debuted in 2020 for the 2021 model year, providing the Ford Raptor with some fierce competition.
The 2024 TRX Final Edition is restricted to 4,000 units, each of which costs $119,620.
The Ram 1500 RHO will be added to the lineup in the third quarter of 2024. The manufacture of the 2025 Ram 1500 begins in the first quarter of next year.
