Skoda chose the romantic occasion of Valentine's Day to reveal the updated version of their popular Octavia model. The refreshed Octavia, a staple in the Czech brand's lineup, showcases subtle exterior enhancements and a technological upgrade while maintaining its sedan and estate body styles.
Initially, the powertrain options for the facelifted Octavia include gasoline, mild-hybrid, and diesel variants, with expectations for a forthcoming plug-in hybrid model. Notably, the performance-oriented RS trim is exclusively available with a gasoline engine, promising increased power, sportier aesthetics, and enhanced features.

Introduced in its fourth generation in 2019, the Octavia received a mid-lifecycle refresh to align it with the advancements seen in Skoda's larger models like the Superb and Kodiaq. Exterior revisions focus primarily on the intricate headlights, offering LED Matrix "Crystallinum" technology as an optional feature, and a redesigned bumper with taller side intakes.
The rear bumper also undergoes adjustments, complemented by updated LED taillight designs. The Sportline trim introduces gloss-black accents, a lowered sports suspension, and optional 19-inch wheels for a more dynamic appearance.
Inside the cabin, the Octavia boasts a standard 10-inch digital instrument cluster and infotainment display, with the option to upgrade to a larger 13-inch touchscreen. Upholstery and trim materials now emphasize sustainability, with new choices available. Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) are upgraded, including forthcoming features such as remote park assist and an AI-powered Chat GPT voice assistant.
The performance-oriented RS variant stands out with its sporty bumpers featuring distinctive air intakes and dual exhaust pipes. Interior enhancements include sporty bucket seats, black suede upholstery with red stitching, carbon-style trim, aluminum pedals, and a three-spoke RS-branded steering wheel.
Unlike its predecessor, which offered multiple powertrain options, the facelifted RS exclusively features a turbocharged 2.0-liter TSI engine producing 261 hp, matching the output of its VW Golf GTI counterpart. Paired with a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission and electronically-controlled limited-slip differential, this setup delivers unparalleled performance.
The RS also boasts a lowered sports suspension and a sports exhaust system for an exhilarating driving experience.
The remaining Octavia lineup includes non-electrified gasoline, mild-hybrid gasoline, and diesel options, with speculation surrounding the potential introduction of the Skoda Octavia iV plug-in hybrid. However, uncertainty remains regarding the fate of the CNG-fueled Octavia G-Tec post-facelift.
