The Torres EVX electric off-first roader's completely disclosed and official photos have been released by SsangYong. Although the business would shortly change its name to KG Mobility, the lack of SsangYong branding on the exterior was to be expected.
The U100 project was the previous name for the SUV. Thanks to the revised face, the model differs from its ICE-powered cousin in appearance. There are noticeable modifications at the front but the side profile is essentially unchanged. With six LED dots in the center between the LED lights at the corners of the upper area, the fascia of the battery-powered model is a little bit more streamlined.
The inside of the 1.5-liter turbocharged Torres is very dissimilar from that of the electric version. A dual-screen layout has taken the place of the previous huge central tablet-style display. The climate control touch-sensitive area is gone, but the steering wheel is still there. The new UX is said to be more ergonomic, and the manufacturer claims that the redesigned dash enhanced overall visibility.
Regrettably, SsangYong withholds information on the Torres EVX's internals. The SUV and the smaller Korando e-Motion might have similar underpinnings. The latter has a single 190 horsepower front-mounted electric engine and a 61.5 kWh battery that provide 340 km of WLTP range.
along with many other concepts and production vehicles, the new Torres EVX will make its world debut on March 30 at the 2023 Seoul Mobility Expo.
