In Japan, Subaru unveiled the Forester's sportiest trim level, known as the STI Sport. This unique model, available only in Japan, has been enhanced in terms of design and suspension to produce a more thrilling crossover.
The installation of STI-tuned dampers is the primary mechanical modification for this generation of the Forester. Additionally, it receives a set of 18-inch dark gray wheels with 225/55 all-season tires.
The STI team has calibrated the Hitachi Astemo SFRD front dampers, coupled with special tuning for the rear dampers, for the version-specific suspension. Subaru argues that despite being an SUV with a high center of gravity, handling is equivalent to a sporty sedan.
The red STI insignia on the grille and tailgate, as well as the external design, are enough to thrill some Subaru enthusiasts. The side sills, bumper trim at both ends, and the surrounds of the fog lights have been given black highlights on the modified appearance.
The body is available in the following colors: Ice Silver Metallic, Magnetite Gray Metallic, Crystal White Pearl, and Crystal Black Silica.
18-inch aluminum wheels and a glossy black finish on the front skid plate, bumper intakes, side sill cladding, mirrors, rear diffuser, and rear spoiler set the STI Sport apart from other vehicles.
Levorg and WRX S4 received identical treatment in Japan, where they additionally received even higher-spec STI Sport R ratings.
Unfortunately, there are no engine upgrades for the Forester. It has a CVT gearbox, a standard Symmetrical AWD system, and a turbocharged 1.8-liter four-cylinder petrol engine with 175 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque.
This edition's interior features two-tone Nappa leather upholstery in Bordeaux red and Black. STI Sport instruments are located in the instrument panel behind the leather-wrapped steering wheel. Power tailgates and the more sophisticated EyeSight Safety Plus ADAS suite are available extras.
Later this summer, the Forester STI Sport will be available for purchase in Japan. The business hasn't yet disclosed the special edition's price. Whether Subaru intends to give a comparable grade abroad is unknown.
