Subaru is bidding farewell to the Outback in Japan with a special limited-edition model to mark its 30th anniversary. The Legacy Outback 30th Anniversary Edition will be limited to just 500 units and boasts a range of visual and performance upgrades.
The special edition Outback features a distinctive exterior appearance with blacked-out accents, including the wheels, bumpers, arches, skirts, wing mirrors, grille, and roof rails. A rear spoiler adds a sporty touch, while special badges identify the limited-edition model.
Under the hood, the 30th Anniversary Edition benefits from upgraded suspension components, including STI-tuned dampers at the front and rear. These dampers, known as Hitachi Astemo SFRDs, are designed to improve handling and ride comfort.
Inside, the cabin is treated to a luxurious makeover with ivory-colored and black Nappa leather upholstery featuring silver contrast stitching. A high-quality Harmon Kardon audio system with 10 speakers and a subwoofer elevates the listening experience. The door panels feature special "30th Anniversary" stitching, adding a touch of exclusivity.
Due to the limited production run, Subaru will conduct a lottery system to allocate the 500 units among interested buyers. The order books will open on November 10, 2024, and remain open until March 2025. Pricing details for the special edition have not yet been announced.
As the Outback fades from the Japanese market, this limited-edition model serves as a fitting tribute to its legacy. With its distinctive styling, enhanced performance, and luxurious interior, the 30th Anniversary Edition is sure to be a sought-after collector's item for Subaru enthusiasts.
