Are Tesla vehicles high quality or just moderate ones from the production line? This is a big issue that could make fans of this company mad. There have been many defects with the quality of this company. The latest one is corrupted paint.
As autoevolution.com reports, it seems some models of Tesla have paint problems. The first car came out of the production line of Fremont, and now there is another unpleased customer with his Tesla Model Y Long Range. This car was produced in Giga Shanghai. This owner bought it in Luxembourg.
This car was delivered to the buyer on September 30, 2021. Although he was just amazed at the reputation of Tesla, after taking up his car, the situation changed. It seems, by the time of delivery the hole paint was dirty with scratches. When he informed the customer service, the answer was It’s within Tesla’s internal margins.
This person knew Tesla cars have paint problems and knew the company should use a PPF (Paint Protection Film). But his car didn’t have it. even this feature is just for selective countries!
“I told them about PPF on these specific parts of the car being applied in countries such as Germany, Norway, and some others as well as mudflaps. They told me it wasn’t for all countries, so we kind of had to take the car either way. They didn’t say it was recommended to have this on the car either.”
After just 9,000 km the paint damage was not anything to avoid of. Once again, he contacted Tesla Service Center but yet no good answer from them. it seems a repainting for the Tesla cars is necessary. The same situation happened also in Canada which has cold weather. They have already sued Tesla for the defects. They are waiting for the court now.
For the case of this vehicle in Luxembourg, as the car was built up in the total modern factory, no one can point the facilities out. Also, Tesla is going to open even more modern factories in Germany and Austin. These types of defects which are significantly rising could affect the reputation of the company.
