This One-Off VW Golf Is More Powerful Than A Lamborghini Gallardo

The VW Golf R, one of the best hot hatchbacks in its class, made the ideal starting point for apprentices from the VGRD. It was transformed into a hyper hatch known as "Hurricane" by a number of aesthetic and mechanical additions made by Volkswagen Group Retail Germany (VGRD). The Hurricane has a dramatic exterior, a coordinating interior, and a significant increase in power.

The hatchback's exterior features include bigger front and rear fenders, aerodynamic side skirts, and an Eifel Green livery with black graphics and carbon fiber accents. Carbon fiber is now used for various body pieces, including the bonnet, roof, spoiler, and tailgate.

The headlights have been significantly veiled, and the taillights are now linked by a full-width LED bar. The Hurricane also rides on a new set of MB Design 10-spoke alloy wheels with a duo-tone finish, which are shod in track-focused Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tires.

The interior color palette is identical, with black and green Alcantara upholstery and contrasting stitching. The driver and front passenger sit on Recaro carbon fiber racing buckets, while the back bench has been eliminated to save weight and replaced by a roll cage.

A new HGP turbocharger, a larger intercooler, improved ECU software, a new air filter, and a reworked exhaust were all added to the 2.0-liter TSI four-cylinder engine. The result is that the mill generates 519 horsepower and 629 Nm of torque.

Through the 4Motion technology and a seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox, power is sent to all four wheels. Although VGRD withheld the acceleration data, the Hurricane's top speed is greater than 300 km/h.

Larger ceramic brakes from the Audi R8 (front) and the Audi S8 as well as an improved suspension from Eibach are among the chassis modifications (rear).

A weight drop of 200 kg over the basic Golf R was visible because of the extensive usage of carbon fiber.

The VW Golf R Hurricane will not be produced and will remain a one-off.
