TOGG, Turkey’s First EV Is Heading For Production

TOGG, Turkish automaker, unveiled prototypes for its electric SUV and sedan two years ago and just confirmed that production will begin in 2022 for both vehicles.TOGG, or Turkey's Automotive Joint Venture Group, is a consortium of five Turkish firms working together to develop a variety of electric cars.

TOGG has stated that the Use-Case Mobility solutions it will showcase at CES will integrate advanced electric, autonomous, and connected mobility technologies into a single design space. The manufacturer is expected to bring its electric SUV and sedan prototypes, although this has not been confirmed.

Single and dual-motor options will be available for both the SUV and sedan types. Entry-level vehicles will feature rear-wheel drive with a single electric motor producing 200 horsepower, while flagship variants will include a front-mounted electric motor for a total of 400 horsepower. Single-motor variants should reach 100 km/h in 7.6 seconds, while dual-motor versions should do it in 4.8 seconds.

According to preliminary range estimates, base versions will be able to go at least 300 kilometers on a single charge, while dual-motor vehicles should be able to travel more than 500 kilometers.

TOGG will produce its cars at a plant in the Gemlik district of Bursa province's northern region, which is expected to open in early 2022.TOGG will launch its "Use-Case Mobility" solutions at CES 2022, which will take place in Las Vegas from January 5-8.
