The TNGA unibody platform, which is currently used by Toyota Innova, has just undergone modernization. Previous generations of the Toyota Innova shared a ladder-frame chassis with the Hilux pickup truck. The new model takes a step forward, powered by the Corolla's GA-C unibody architecture, and is now available with FWD rather than RWD. With three rows of seating and an improved hybrid powertrain, the new Innova is known as the Zenix in Indonesia.
The new Innova has dimensions of 4,755 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width, 1,795 mm in height, and a 2,850 mm wheelbase.
The new Innova Zenix resembles an SUV more than a minivan in terms of design. A larger grille, contemporary air intakes with DRLs, and thinner, higher-mounted headlights are all features of the tough front end.
To further spruce up the styling, Toyota is also offering a variety of accessories like bumper extensions, a blacked-out grille garnish, and various alloy wheels. Depending on the trim, the alloy wheels range in size from 16 inches to 18 inches.
The Innova's interior still features its distinctive three-row layout with room for seven or eight passengers. A 4.2-inch screen is located in the instrument cluster, a 9- or 10-inch touchscreen serves as the infotainment system, and two additional 10-inch screens are mounted on the backs of the seats for the back passengers. A wireless charging pad, four USB-C outlets, ambient lighting, leather upholstery for the seats, faux wood or aluminum accents, a large sunroof, and other features are included with higher trims.
The model comes with either a gasoline or a hybrid powertrain. A 2.0-liter engine with 172 horsepower is installed in the entry-level non-electrified version. A 2.0-liter four-cylinder 16V Dual VVT-i engine with 150 horsepower and an electric motor with 111 horsepower are combined to produce 183 horsepower in the hybrid. A CVT gearbox is used in both situations to send power to the front axle.
The Toyota Safety Sense ADAS suite, which is absent from the entry-level variants, is included in the high-spec Innova Zenix for added safety.
In Indonesia, the cost of the Toyota Innova Zenix ranges from $26,645 for the base model to $38,228 for the top-of-the-line model.
