Trinity, The Next Generation EVs Of VW, To Be Built At New Factory

Trinity is the new generation electric car of Volkswagen. This German automaker announced they will build a new plant for this zero-emission car in 2021. Now after three-month of 2022, company decided to have the plant just in Wolfsburg.

Wolfsburg is the main location of VW. For developing the area and having this new plant there, up to €2 billion or around $2.2 billion is invested. The CEO of Volkswagen, Ralf Brandstätter supports the idea and sees this situation as an opportunely to pass the transformation period and build a new future for Wolfsburg production facility. He also added:

"We are setting benchmarks in the automotive industry with Trinity and the new factory and turning Wolfsburg into the global lighthouse for cutting-edge and efficient vehicle production. This reaffirms that the economic transformation of Germany as a center of industry can be achieved."

The construction in Wolfsburg site will launch by early spring in 2023. As buildings are going to follow environmental laws, new factory has high standards. After finishing the construction, Trinity would go on production line in 2026. As Volkswagen urged, by using the most innovative production methods, this car will be the net carbon neutral model. Later company will spread the technology to all its sites worldwide. The target is to produce one vehicle in 10 hours.

Trinity itself, is promised to be ready for level 4 autonomous driving. It will support fast charging and covers the range travel of 700 km.
