Wuling is well known for creating the Mini EV, a popular electric vehicle in China. In Indonesia, the Chinese automaker has recently shown a new vehicle of comparable size.
The Wuling EV's formal presentation made no mention of the model's technical specs. However, it's worth noting that the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology leaked an identical Wuling Air a few weeks ago. We may expect the same power train because the two cars are identical.
The Chinese-spec vehicle will be available in two versions: a two-seater with a length of 2,599 mm and a four-seater with a length of 2,974 mm. Both will be powered by a 40-horsepower electric motor.
The Wuling EV features a single-box design with a small bonnet and a big aerodynamic windscreen. This layout was inspired by the VR glasses headlights, which are likewise positioned lower on the front bumper, according to the designers.
The EV's profile is defined by its small wheels, which give it the appearance of a shopping cart. The rear side windows, which are substantially taller than the front side windows, are another distinguishing characteristic.
Between June 1 and 5, the Wuling EV will be on display at the "Electrify Your World" exhibition in Jakarta. The model will be available for purchase in Indonesia soon.
The Wuling Air twin is set to launch in China in the third quarter of 2022.
