Xpeng has revealed the first official images of its highly anticipated P7 “Wing Edition,” a special variant of the company’s all-electric P7 sedan. This new edition introduces a number of distinctive design and performance upgrades, both inside and out, making it a standout in the brand’s lineup. Pre-orders have already gone live, and the model is expected to make its official market debut before the end of August.
The most eye-catching element of the Wing Edition is undoubtedly its dramatic scissor doors. These doors, reminiscent of the earlier P7 Wing Edition design, open upwards in a striking, butterfly-like motion, creating a powerful visual statement. To further emphasize its exclusive nature, the car will be offered in a unique matte silver exterior finish, paired with 21-inch forged alloy wheels in a dark grey tone. The exterior also features premium carbon fibre details, including trim pieces on the front fenders and the mirror caps, giving the vehicle a sportier and more aggressive edge. In terms of size, the new P7 has grown in almost every direction compared to the previous version, now measuring 5,017 mm in length, 1,970 mm in width, and 1,427 mm in height, with an extended wheelbase of 3,008 mm.
Inside the cabin, the Wing Edition continues the theme of exclusivity. Passengers are greeted by illuminated door sills with a darker tone, adding a refined and futuristic touch. The interior also debuts a bold “Orange Radiance” colour palette, enhancing the sporty atmosphere. The seats have been upgraded to Dinamica sport seats, which promise improved comfort and support during spirited driving.
Performance-wise, buyers will have two powertrain choices. The first is a rear-wheel-drive configuration powered by a single electric motor producing 270 kW. The second is a dual-motor all-wheel-drive version, delivering a combined output of 437 kW. Battery options include a 74.9 kWh pack for the base model and a larger 92.2 kWh pack for the higher trims. According to CLTC test cycle figures, the single-motor variant can travel up to 702 km on a full charge, while the dual-motor AWD variant offers up to 820 km in one configuration or 750 km in another, depending on specific settings.
The market’s enthusiasm for the new model is already evident. Following the official unveiling of the updated P7 on August 6 in China, Xpeng recorded over 10,000 pre-orders in an astonishing 6 minutes and 37 seconds. With a projected price of around $55,000 for the scissor-door edition, the new P7 Wing Edition will be competing directly with other premium electric sedans such as the Xiaomi SU7, Tesla Model 3, and BYD Seal.
