Toyota officially launched the new model of Yaris in European market with a hybrid engine option. The 2020 Yaris is the first Toyota built on the GA-B platform. The GA-B platform is one of the members of the TNGA platforms family. The new platform improves the body rigidity and driving dynamics.
The 2020 Yaris Hybrid uses a new 1.5-liter three-cylinder “Dynamic Force” powertrain. This engine can pump out 114 hp which is 15 hp more than the outgoing model.
The gasoline engine on the unit can produce 91 hp and 120 nm of torque and the electric motor can produce 79 hp and 141 nm of torque. Toyota also uses a lithium-ion battery pack on the 2020 Yaris Hybrid.
The 2020 Yaris Hybrid can hit 100 kph in 9.7 seconds. Its fuel consumption figure is 3. lt/100km and emits only 85 g/km of CO2.
Toyota improved the EV driving of the Yaris as well. As a result the new Yaris Hybrid can travel up to the speed of 130 kph on EV mode.
fo r other markets, buyers can also get their 2020 Yaris with a 1.5-liter three-cylinder or 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine with 6-speed manual or CVT automatic transmissions.
The new Yaris not only has more interior space than before but it also offers more standard features like Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Pre-Collision System, pedestrian detection system, Road Sign assist and Adaptive Cruise Control.
Options include 10-inch color head-up display, wireless smartphone charger, LED headlights, heated steering wheel and JBL sound system with 8 speakers.
