Since 2018, the small sedan known as the Forte, Cerato, or K3 in various regions across the world has been in its third generation, making this a mid-life facelift. Kia has unveiled the 2022 Forte in North America, which has a number of changes. The Kia Forte comes in four model levels for 2022.
New extended LED headlights that now merge with the thinner tiger-nose grille, as well as a more sculpted bumper with elegant intakes and extra LEDs, are among the external design modifications.
A slightly redesigned bumper, new LED taillight designs for the GT and GT-Line, an updated KIA logo, and a trunk lid spoiler are all expected on the back end.
Kia also revealed new alloy wheel designs for the LX and GT-Line trims, measuring 16 and 17 inches respectively. A new 10.25-inch central touchscreen with navigation will be available on the 2022 Forte GT and GT-Line, or an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will be available on the 8-inch touchscreen.
The electronic parking brake with auto hold, the optional rear USB charger, the available SynTex synthetic leather upholstery, and the Smart Key with remote start are among the other improvements.
It has six basic ADAS and up to 15 optional technologies, including Highway Driving Assist, Navigation-Based Smart Cruise Control, and Safe Exit Warning, among others.
The FE, LXS, and GT-Line are powered by a 2.0-liter MPI four-cylinder engine that produces 147 horsepower and 178 Nm of torque. An Intelligent Continuously Variable Transmission transmits power to the front axle (IVT).
The GT model has a turbocharged 1.6-liter GDI four-cylinder engine that produces 201 horsepower and 264 Nm of torque. In this scenario, customers have the option of a six-speed manual or a conventional seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. A multi-link rear axle, two exhaust pipes, and stronger brakes are also included in the GT's suspension package.
Kia has yet to reveal the price, although it is likely to be similar to the previous model.
