Mazda has officially introduced its Mazda2 Hybrid vehicle for the European market, which is based on the Toyota Yaris. The Mazda 2 Hybrid for 2022 is a Toyota Yaris rebadged. From spring 2022, the self-charging hybrid supermini will be available.
The vehicle is built on the TNGA-B design, with a length of 3,940 mm and a wheelbase of 2,550 mm.
The ultimate product, with the exception of the insignia, looks exactly like the Yaris. The only difference between the Yaris and the Mazda2 is the Mazda insignia on the steering wheel and the Mazda2 wording on the floor mats.
It has a 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine with 93 horsepower and a 59-kW electric motor for a total system output of 116 horsepower.
The Mazda2 Hybrid accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.7 seconds, but its combined WLTP fuel efficiency is remarkable, ranging between 3.8 and 4.0 liters per 100 kilometers. Depending on whether the automobile is equipped with 15′′ or 16′′ wheels, CO2 emissions range from 87 to 93 g/km.
During slowing and braking, the system will also collect kinetic energy and store it as electrical energy.
Pure, Agile, and Select are the three trim options available for the Mazda2 Hybrid. Mazda is introducing a complete hybrid vehicle for the first time in Europe. The Mazda2 Hybrid has joined the Mazda MX-30, a battery-electric vehicle.
The Mazda2 Hybrid will assist Mazda in lowering its fleet's average emissions in Europe and complying with rigorous requirements. This will result in a 50% reduction in business average CO2 emissions by 2030, and carbon neutrality by 2050.
