The Land Cruiser LC300 reports continue to flood in, only days before the rumored official debut of Toyota's flagship SUV on May 31 or June 1. The company's records go into great detail on the vehicle's dimensions. Simultaneously, we have proof of the move to the TNGA-F platform and a 10-speed automatic transmission.
The Land Cruiser LC300's total length will be 4,965 mm for the GR Sport trim level and marginally longer than 4,985 mm for the ZX trim level. It is 35 mm taller than its ancestor and stands 1,945 mm taller.
The paper further shows that the ground clearance has not changed and that the arrival and departure angles have been carried forward from the LC200.
Since the body-on-frame pickup is also transitioning to the TNGA-F system, the current Land Cruiser will be mechanically related to the 2022 Tundra. The truck will be powered by a turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 with 409 hp and 650 Nm, similar to the LC300. Toyota's flagship SUV will also get a 3.3-liter diesel V6 with 302 hp and 700 Nm as a refresh.
Toyota was able to reduce the fuel tank size by 15 liters by converting to V6 engines. This modification further reduces weight, which is further reduced with the use of an aluminum roof.
It's uncertain if the LC200's SUV counterpart will return to the US after the LC200's disappearance at the end of the 2021 model year.
