Kia Sportage model of 2023 was already debuted in homeland and Europe. But now we can see this beloved vehicle in USA too. The new Sportage experienced many changes and upgrades. Its actually the fifth generation of this crossover.
Kia made many changes this year, it has also made grate designed and technology touches on its cars too. Kia Sportage was always one of the most famous big SUVs of Kia during years. the model of 2023 will also find its way to the U.S. market. It has the same platform with Sorento, (N3 platform). Moreover, new Sportage uses hot-stamped parts and ultra-high-strength steel to improve tensile strength and torsional rigidity. It gets less noisy inside the cabin thanks to the sound-absorbing materials.
New Sportage is a bit bigger than previous models, it’s now 7.1 length longer, and the wheelbase is about 3.4 inches wilder.
Under the hood lays a new 2.5-liter four-cylinder. Although there is not much information about it, but we know that the total output reaches to 187 hp. Also, an eight-speed automatic gearbox is used. New Sportage can be a front-wheel drive or even an all-wheel drive car.
Along with being ICE, the hybrid powertrain is also possible. The car-maker mentioned it as "forthcoming electrified versions" . still no exact information is available. In South Korea, the plug-in hybrid is already debuted. Maybe this version of new Sportage comes in US too.
One important improvement about its big crossover is its new ability to go off-roads. The model of 2023 has the X-Line and X-Pro trim levels which are both standard all-wheel drives, improves the maneuverability. X-Line trim includes a satin chrome surround for the bumpers, gloss black pieces for the mirror caps, roof rack, and window surrounds. On the roof is rails for the accessories. Also, with this trim 19-inch wheels are needed.
By the way, X-Pro is more suitable for off-roads. It has a set of 17-inch matte black wheels with B.F. Goodrich all-terrain tires. LED fog lights, a heated windshield and washer nozzles, and multi-terrain drive modes with normal, sport, smart, and snow settings are the other important features of this package.
Just for mentioning, the other trim with the name of X-Pro Prestige offers more amenities. It has LED projector headlights, ventilated front seats, and an eight-way power-adjustable front passenger seat.
By the exterior we can see the new touches on the body. The grille is much smaller which goes well with the headlights. The lights are in the shape of boomerang. Also, we can see a beltline dips down at the A-pillar and then rises upward as it reaches the rear.
Getting inside this crossover, a panoramic curved display is possible by the demand of customers. this display integrates the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and 12.3-inch infotainment screen. The touchpad below the center monitor has duty of climate and audio controls. The other physical knobs can be adjusted too.
This vehicle is also safe enough. collision avoidance, lane-keeping assist, reverse parking distance warning, driver attention warning, and rear occupant alert are just some of safety features. There are also more optional features like forward collision avoidance, blind-spot collision avoidance, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance, forward parking distance warning, reverse parking collision avoidance, and adaptive cruise control too. You just need to pay more for it.
The 2023 Sportage will have several levels of LX, EX, SX, SX-Prestige, X-Line, X-Pro, and X-Pro Prestige. Just after announcing each trims price tag would be announced too
