With the introduction of all-electric versions of both the 308 hatch and 308 SW, the Peugeot 308 lineup has recently expanded. The E-308 shares the same platform as the ICE model, therefore both the inside and exterior are basically the same.
To get a little bit more range out of the battery pack, a new set of 18-inch wheels has been created with aerodynamic efficiency in mind. Peugeot states that the E-308 and E-308 SW have an average energy usage of 12.7 kWh per 100 km and come equipped with low-friction tires.
A 54 kWh high-voltage battery comprised of 80% nickel, 10% manganese, and 10% cobalt may be found under the skin of both versions.
Peugeot claims that both models will be capable of traveling more than 400 km on a single charge despite the fact that the final range data have not yet been disclosed. The vehicles have an 11 kW on-board three-phase charger as standard equipment, and when hooked into a 100 kW charger, they can be charged from 20% to 80% in less than 25 minutes.
The E-308 uses a newly created electric motor that generates 156 horsepower and 260 Newton-meters of torque. It is available in hatchback and wagon body types. Performance hasn't been mentioned yet.
The Eco, Normal, Sport and Brake driving modes will be available for drivers to choose. The last mode boosts the amount of brake regeneration which gives the car better efficiency.
The current generation Peugeot i-Cockpit with a tiny heated steering wheel, a 3-dimensional digital Head-Up Display, and a central 10-inch touch screen is present inside, which is substantially equivalent to a combustion-powered 308's interior.
Peugeot will begin selling the 2023 E-308 in Allure and GT trim levels in the middle of the next year. The electric hatchback or wagon can be ordered directly from the company's website, and customers can even trade in their old car and finance the purchase there. They won't be charged anything extra to have the EV delivered to their house.
