Kia has officially introduced the 2025 K4, a replacement for the Forte sedan within its U.S. lineup. Positioned as a step up from its predecessor, the K4 carries a starting price of $21,990, excluding the $1,155 destination charge. This represents a $2,200 increase over the Forte but promises enhanced features and a more refined experience.

Starting with the base LX model at $21,990, buyers can expect a price increase of $2,200 compared to the 2024 Forte. The LXS trim comes in at $22,990, representing a $2,700 premium over the previous year's Forte. While pricing for the EX trim is currently unavailable, the sporty GT-Line starts at $25,190, which is $2,900 more than the 2024 Forte. For those seeking more power, the GT-Line Turbo commands a starting price of $28,090, a $3,600 increase over the 2024 Forte GT.
The K4 boasts a more upscale interior compared to the Forte, incorporating advanced technological features. Despite its compact size, Kia emphasizes its spaciousness, particularly in the rear legroom, which it claims to be class-leading at 965 mm. Additionally, the trunk capacity is said to rival that of midsize sedans.
The 2025 K4 is scheduled for a staggered rollout. The base model will arrive in dealerships in September 2024, followed by the GT-Line in November. The range-topping GT-Line Turbo is anticipated to launch early in the following year. While Kia has yet to confirm a hatchback variant, speculation suggests that it may join the lineup in the near future.
Standard equipment includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, displayed on a 12.3-inch touchscreen. Higher trims offer an even more sophisticated digital cockpit, along with premium features such as a Harman Kardon audio system, heated and ventilated front seats, a keyless entry system, and a sunroof. Safety is a priority, with eight airbags and an extensive suite of 11 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) included as standard. Kia offers a total of 29 ADAS features across the K4 lineup.
The sportier end of the spectrum is covered by the GT-Line and GT-Line Turbo models. The latter replaces the Forte GT and hints at the potential for a full-fledged performance variant under the GT badge in the future. Powering the GT-Line Turbo is a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine producing 190 horsepower and 264 Nm of torque. The rest of the K4 range utilizes a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter engine generating 147 horsepower and 179 Nm of torque. To enhance handling, the GT-Line and GT-Line Turbo models feature a multi-link rear suspension setup.
With the K4, Kia aims to elevate its sedan offering, providing customers with a more refined, technologically advanced, and spacious vehicle while maintaining the brand's reputation for value.
