The Giulia sedan will get a new generation, according to Alfa Romeo CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato. Alfa Romeo does not wish to become an SUV-only brand, despite the introduction of multiple new SUV models. Imparato emphasized that the Italian company still believes in the sedan bodystyle:
"We are not abandoning the Giulia. There will be a future Giulia, and it will be an electric-only model,"
according to camouflaged prototypes found in Italy. The present Giulia, which was debuted in 2015, is due for a facelift, along with the mechanically-related Stelvio.
It'll be around for a few years before saying goodbye to gasoline and diesel engines in favor of the next-generation model.
This will most likely allow the car to last a few more years before being replaced with an electric vehicle. The anticipated Audi A4 e-tron will compete with the BMW i4 Gran Coupe, the speculated Mercedes-Benz EQC sedan, and the BMW i4 Gran Coupe.
While we don't know the exact specifications, the Giulia EV is expected to be built on the STLA Medium architecture.
When asked if the Giulietta will return in some form, Alfa's CEO stated that the tiny Tonale crossover has basically replaced it.
The Alfa Romeo Giulietta, which was sold between 2010 and 2020, will not be replaced since a compact hatchback is not one of the brand's objectives.
By 2027, Alfa Romeo's fully electric lineup will comprise the Brennero small SUV, the Tonale compact SUV, the Giulia midsize sedan, the Stelvio midsize SUV, the new X5- and X6-sized SUVs, as well as a big sedan flagship to compete with the BMW i7 and Mercedes-Benz EQS. The Tonale is expected to help the Italian brand achieve its aim of 100,000 global sales by 2023, up from 56,000 units in 2021 when it only offered the Giulia and the Stelvio.
