Buick has introduced a new model of GL6 minivan for the 2021 model year and it will be available with a hybrid engine.
Buick GL6 is not an international product and it is only available in China. It uses a 1.3-liter turbocharged engine with mild-hybrid technology that is connected to a 6-speed gearbox. While there is no word about specifications yet but Buick said that the new engine with a 48V electric system consumes less fuel than before by 7.6 percent and now consumes only 6.1 l/100 km.
The automaker has been testing the new MHEV for more than 500,000 hours in order to ensure that its powertrain is reliable. The new engine supports intelligent charging, energy regeneration, and start-stop.
For 2021 Buick GL6 also comes with the eConnect 3.0 system with a 10.25-inch LED instrument cluster as standard. Other key factors are air-purifying A/C, Buick Live Sound surround audio, standard panoramic sunroof, rear privacy windows, and new steering wheel.
On the safety side, Buick GL6 comes standard with forward collision warning, lane departure warning, side blind zone alert and automatic park assist. There is no word about pricing yet but Buick is going to launch the new Buick GL6 on November 19 in China.
