Chery Electric Cars Will Be Sold As NEV In Asian Market

Numerous Chinese automakers greatly improved their standing in Russia during the market's transformation. For instance, in the first ten months of this year, Chery's parent brand sold 94.3 thousand cars alone, a 262 percent increase from January to October of the previous year. Chery is now the most popular foreign automobile brand in Russia as a result.

Chery sells cars made of oxide, omoda, jetour, Kai, and jaiko in addition to the original brand in the Russian market. The Chinese automaker recently declared that Chery NEV, a new brand, will launch in Russia the following year.

Under the new brand, Chery Automotive intends to sell vehicles with alternative energy sources, such as hybrid and all-electric models. Naturally, the brand names of the models that the company plans to offer in 2024 have not yet been disclosed.

Under his direction, the German brand rose to 6.7 percent market share and entered the top 5 best-selling brands in Russia. Chery's market share in Russia for this year is 11.4 percent.

Only the ultimate model of the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro and Tiggo 7 Pro crossover is available in Russia; hybrid versions of these vehicles debuted at the end of last month. A 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder, turbocharged gasoline engine producing 147 horsepower and two electric motors with a combined output of 235 horsepower power both versions are outfitted with.

The Tiggo 7 PRO hybrid has an 82 km range, while the Cherry Tiggo 8 Pro plug-in hybrid has an 80 km range. The Tiggo 8 Pro and Tiggo 7 Pro have a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time of 7.5 and 7.4 seconds, respectively, and a maximum speed of 180 km/h. Both the Tigo 8 Pro and Tigo 7 Pro plug-in hybrids cost 5,199,900 and 3,999,900 rubles, respectively.
