BYD and Mercedes-Benz used to collaborate on Denza. Mercedes-Benz worked on the automobiles' aesthetics while BYD handled the project's technology and production. A few sedans and the Denza X SUV, which was based on the BYD Tang, were part of its model lineup. The German manufacturer later removed itself from the Partnership, cutting its participation to 10%. Following it, BYD started creating automobiles on its own.
Now, they have developed a new BYD Tang sister known as the Denza N8, which is positioned as an SUV from the premium line of BYD vehicles.
The Denza N8's external styling adheres to the brand's most recent design aesthetic. Running lights with a distinctive fang-like appearance is on their front end. However, the BYD Tang's overall exterior, body form, and glass area resemble its design. The BEV and PHEV variants of the N8 will both be offered. The frameless grille on the PHEV model is in contrast to the closed grille of the all-electric model.
The N8's dimensions were kept a secret. But, we may assume that in terms of size, it will remain near the BYD Tang. They have a wheelbase of 2820 mm and measure 4870 mm long, 1950 mm wide, and 1725 mm height. There will be 5, 6, and 7 seats available for the Denza N8.
The N8's powertrain appears to be comparable to the BYD Tang's. Recall that the battery options for its all-electric version were 90.3 kWh and 108.8 kWh. The FWD Tang has 228 or 245 horsepower, and the 4WD configuration has up to 517 horsepower. There are two possibilities for the BYD Tang's PHEV version: 218 or 489 horsepower.
This year, the Denza N8 will launch in China. Pricing information will be released soon.
