The iconic Hemi engine is once again in the spotlight, and this time it's thanks to Dodge’s latest announcement about its 2026 Durango lineup. While the presence of a V8 might have once turned heads, this news isn't entirely unexpected given the buzz surrounding Dodge’s future plans. What is exciting, however, is the confirmation that the Hemi-powered Durango is sticking around—and it’s bringing a few upgrades and familiar favorites along for the ride. Plus, Dodge has shared a bit of news about the much-anticipated tenth annual Roadkill Nights event, giving fans of American muscle more reason to celebrate.
For the 2026 model year, Dodge will offer the Durango in three primary trims. Starting off the range is the GT, a more accessible option that comes with a 3.6-liter V6 engine. Priced from \$38,495, the GT isn’t loaded with dramatic new features, but it does retain popular styling and comfort packages. One such package is the returning Blacktop Redline edition, which gives the Durango a more aggressive appearance with leather and suede seats, red contrast stitching, and a performance-style hood. It remains a stylish, sporty choice for drivers who want muscle-car looks without the V8 powertrain.
Moving up the range, the R/T trim returns with a strong 5.7-liter Hemi V8 engine that has long been a fan favorite in this SUV. Starting at $49,995, the R/T can now also be fitted with the Blacktop Redline package for an additional $3,495. This adds 20-inch black wheels, SRT-style spoilers, and distinctive fender badges, enhancing the Durango’s sporty appeal. For those who need more than just good looks, the Tow N Go package is also returning. Priced at $5,990, this package is designed for serious performance and utility. It increases the Durango’s towing capacity to an impressive 8,700 pounds and includes features like Brembo brakes, widebody fender flares, a limited-slip rear differential, adaptive suspension, and exclusive 20-inch wheels.
Dodge hasn’t forgotten about the enthusiasts either—the ferocious Durango Hellcat is making a comeback in 2026. While the company hasn’t yet shared pricing or power figures, the announcement hints that there could be even more performance in store. Fans will have to wait a bit longer for full details.
Meanwhile, Dodge also confirmed the return of Roadkill Nights, an annual celebration of horsepower and performance culture. This year marks the tenth consecutive edition of the event, which includes drag races, new vehicle debuts, and a sprawling car show. It’s set to take place on August 9 in metro Detroit, though Dodge has yet to reveal the exact location.
