Exeed, Chery's upscale brand, has introduced its latest offering, the Exeed Zhuifeng, also known internationally as the Exeed LX C-DM. This release encompasses three distinct variants tailored to meet various market demands. Positioned as a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) iteration of the Exeed LX, pricing for these models ranges from 129,800 to 149,800 yuan (approximately 18,200 USD to 21,000 USD).
A standout feature of the LX C-DM is its all-new 1.5T C-DM plug-in hybrid system, a significant upgrade over its predecessor, the 1.5TCI-DHT plug-in hybrid system. This innovative system boasts several enhancements, including accelerated charging times, heightened efficiency, and improved fuel economy, resulting in a combined power output of 326 horsepower (239 kW). With an electric-only range of 80 km and a total range extending up to 1,000 km, the LX C-DM offers versatility and performance. In comparison, the petrol-powered Exeed LX is equipped with a 2-liter four-cylinder engine generating 262 horsepower.

Design-wise, the LX C-DM retains the aesthetic appeal of its PHEV predecessor, characterized by a front fascia featuring four LED lights and a black trim strip, accentuating the vehicle's visual breadth. Notable elements include large criss-crossed air vents, silver trim, and side ducts, contributing to its sporty demeanor. The profile showcases rounded contours and sizable two-tone wheels, while the rear is adorned with full-width tail lights, dual square exhaust tips, diffusers, and a spoiler, further enhancing its sporty allure. Following the styling cues of the top-trim petrol-powered model, the front-end design of the Exeed LX C-DM incorporates a frameless grille. Dimensionally, the vehicle measures 4538 mm in length, 1848 mm in width, and 1699 mm in height, with a wheelbase spanning 2670 mm.
The Exeed LX C-DM represents a fraction of Chery's broader New Energy Strategy. With Chery Group's announcement of a comprehensive transition to New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) last year, the company anticipates a substantial uptick in sales of its NEV lineup this year.
Internally, the LX C-DM continues the design ethos of its predecessor, featuring a 24.6-inch dual-screen setup powered by an 8155 chip and lion5.0 system, facilitating hands-free voice commands and boasting a 540° high-definition camera system. Additional amenities include 50W wireless phone charging, a flat-bottom steering wheel, and integrated air conditioning controls housed within a touch panel. The compact metal shift lever adds a touch of sophistication. Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) such as full-speed adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection further elevate the driving experience.
The powertrain of the C-DM combines a 1.5T engine with two electric motors, delivering a combined output of 326 hp and 545 Nm of torque. Paired with a 3-speed DHT gearbox and a 19.27 kWh battery pack, it supports a 29 kW charging rate, allowing for rapid charging from 30% to 80% in just 25 minutes.
