Geely Galaxy E8 Has More Than 660 Km Of Range

Pre-sale for Geely's brand-new Galaxy E8 all-electric sedan will formally begin on November 17 at the 2023 Guangzhou Auto Show in China. It is anticipated to debut later this year as well.

The Galaxy E8, a medium-to-large sedan with dimensions of 5010 mm in length, 1920 mm in width, 1465 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2925 mm, was constructed using the SEA platform.

With its frameless doors, aerodynamic rims, and hidden door handles, the car's overall fastback design helps it achieve one of the lowest coefficients of drag in the industry—0.199Cd.

With 158 light-emitting units integrated, split LED headlights are combined with a closed grille on the front. The well-known through-type taillights, which are composed of multiple tiny LED units, are present at the back. Regarding the interior, it has a 45-inch 8K resolution screen with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip integrated into the dashboard, as well as a two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel.

The screen has an effective display area of 1130 mm × 138 mm and a thickness of 9.8 mm. It is composed of an instrument panel, a central control screen, and a co-pilot entertainment screen. This screen is waterproof, dustproof, anti-glare, and anti-fingerprint all at once. A 50W wireless charging panel and a rotary knob are included with the center console. A panoramic sunroof, 256-color ambient lighting, and a 25.6-inch AR-HUD are among the other possibilities available.

There are two 400-volt variants available. The first has a 62 kWh LFP battery, a 272 horsepower rear electric motor, and a range of 550 kilometers. There is also a version with the same 272 hp motor but a larger 76 kWh battery pack, which increases the EV's range to 665 km. The range's top model is an 800-volt model with a 224 hp front motor, a 421 hp rear motor, and a 76 kWh battery pack. This model can also travel 665 kilometers on a single charge.

According to Geely, quick charging using the 800V platform takes only five minutes to recharge the battery to 180 km of cruising range.
