Haval H9 Diesel Is Launched

Great Wall Motor’s Haval brand has announced that its second-generation Haval H9 diesel-powered SUV will officially hit the market on December 5. This new version, designed for off-road enthusiasts, is expected to have a price range between $32,800 and $34,700. The Haval H9 retains its rugged appeal while offering advanced features, making it a strong contender in the hardcore SUV segment.

The new model comes in two length options: 5070 mm and 4950 mm, while the width is 1976 mm and 1960 mm, respectively. Both versions share the same height of 1930 mm and a wheelbase of 2850 mm. The design of the diesel variant mirrors that of its gasoline-powered counterpart. At the front, the SUV features a rectangular grille accentuated with four horizontal chrome bars, paired with round retro-style headlights and a robust black bumper. At the rear, a high-mounted brake light, vertical taillights, a spare tire, and a side-opening tailgate add to its practicality and distinctive look. Buyers can choose between two rear designs: one with a spare tire or one with an external square storage unit. The body maintains a boxy silhouette complemented by roof luggage racks and traditional door handles, while multi-spoke rims complete the vehicle’s sturdy appearance.

Inside the Haval H9, the cabin is equipped with modern technology and thoughtful details for comfort and convenience. The dashboard houses a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument cluster alongside a 14.6-inch central control screen, which supports intelligent voice commands. Below the central screen are physical buttons for various functions, ensuring ease of use. Additionally, there’s an off-road handle positioned in front of the co-pilot for added safety and convenience during rugged drives. The center console features a wireless charging pad for mobile devices, a substantial gear lever, and more physical controls for managing the vehicle’s systems.

Under the hood, the Haval H9 diesel variant is powered by a robust 2.4T diesel engine, delivering a maximum power of 184 hp and a peak torque of 480 Nm. The engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission (9AT) to ensure smooth performance. The SUV also incorporates BorgWarner’s advanced Torque On Demand (TOD) intelligent four-wheel-drive system, making it highly capable in various terrains and driving conditions.

With its rugged design, high-tech interior, and powerful engine, the second-generation Haval H9 is poised to attract drivers seeking a reliable and versatile SUV for both urban commutes and off-road adventures.
