For the 2026 model year, Kia has decided not to raise the base price of its flagship electric SUV, the EV9. It will continue to start at \$56,395, including the \$1,495 destination charge, making it a competitive option in the growing electric SUV market. While the overall pricing structure remains largely consistent with the previous year, Kia has made some notable changes to enhance value and performance across several trims, particularly the higher-end models.
Kia continues to offer the EV9 in five main trim levels: Light Standard Range, Light Long Range, Wind, Land, and GT-Line. The configuration of the lineup remains mostly unchanged from 2025, but there are strategic updates worth noting. One of the most significant changes is a price cut for a few trims. The high-performance GT-Line sees a reduction of $2,000, bringing its new starting price to $73,395. Similarly, the Light Long Range trim is now $2,000 less expensive, starting at $59,395, while the Land trim has had $1,000 shaved off its MSRP, now priced at $70,396.
Beyond pricing, Kia has introduced a new Nightfall Edition package for the Land trim. This special edition is more than a simple aesthetic refresh. It features gloss-black exterior accents, unique 20-inch black wheels, and a new exclusive paint option called Roadrider Brown. Performance-wise, the Nightfall Edition includes the GT-Line's Boost mode, which enhances torque from 443 to 516 lb-ft. This enables the EV9 to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds, all while retaining its 379-horsepower output.
Kia has also made improvements to the estimated driving range for select trims. The GT-Line now boasts an increased range of 280 miles per charge, up from 270. The Wind and Land trims have seen a slight bump as well, rising from 280 to 283 miles. Even the Light Long Range trim gets a modest increase, now offering 305 miles, up from 304.
In addition to these updates, Kia is preparing to launch a new performance-focused variant: the EV9 GT. While full details—including pricing—have yet to be released, early expectations suggest it could deliver up to 501 horsepower and sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds. With these updates, the 2026 Kia EV9 lineup presents improved value, broader performance appeal, and enhanced range—all without increasing the base cost.
