KIA Revealed EV6 GT With Amazing Performance Figures

In the US, the Kia EV6 GT made its premiere. Despite the fact that Kia introduced the EV6 a few weeks ago without disclosing any technical details, we now have a clearer picture of its performance and potential.

The EV6 GT uses two electric motors that together produce 576 horsepower and a whopping 740 Nm of instantaneous torque. The electric crossover with all-wheel drive accelerates to 100 km/h in only 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 260 km/h.

The 77.4 kWh nickel-cobalt-manganese battery in the EV6 GT gives it a somewhat lesser electric range of 332 km than less potent variants.

The battery pack can refuel 70% of its capacity in 18 minutes when connected to a 350 kW charger thanks to the 800V architecture, claims Kia.

For superior handling on all types of road surfaces, an electronic limited-slip differential is only available on the range-topper model. Although Kia also provides a 58-kWh battery, the GT, which only has AWD, can only be ordered with a 77.4-kWh battery.

The single-motor, rear-wheel-drive variation arrangement is the only one that offers the larger battery, and according to WLTP, the EV6 can go more than 510 kilometers on a single charge in this configuration.

A more aggressive active suspension, an e-LSD, bigger disc brakes, quicker steering, and a pair of Goodyear Eagle F1 tires are all part of the GT-specific chassis package. Additional driving modes, the Drift Mode, which delivers all power to the rear axle, and two new sound settings in the Active Sound Design menu are also accessible to the driver.

Similar to its sibling, the Hyundai Ioniq 5, the EV6 GT is built using the E-GMP modular platform. The EV6 GT is 4,680 millimeters long, 1,880 millimeters wide, 1,550 millimeters tall, with a 2,900 millimeter wheelbase. The hot GT also sits a little lower to the ground, and both the GT Line and GT are actually a little bit wider and longer.

The electric crossover will be introduced by Kia in the second half of the year. Kia will produce the EV6 domestically in South Korea. Online reservations are now available in select markets. Currently, the GT-Line e-AWD, which retails for $56,400, is the most costly EV6 trim available in the US.
