The newest police vehicle in Italy is the Lamborghini Urus Performante. The Polizia di Stato will use the Urus for specialized services, such as the urgent medical transport of plasma and organs.
The Italian Highway Police has been using Lamborghinis since the year 2000, and the 20th anniversary of this partnership will occur in 2024 with the arrival of the Urus Performante.
Tricolor bands and reflective police logos are combined with the classic Italian State Police colors of blue and white. In addition to its unique paint job, the Urus is equipped with a thin, 360-degree LED light bar. A two-tone siren is another addition to the crossover.
A twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine under the hood generates 850 Nm of torque and 657 horsepower. With it, the crossover with all-wheel drive can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 306 km/h.
Along with the unique cargo compartment that holds a defibrillator and a portable fridge for organ transportation, the model also boasts special switchgear, an armored weapons box, and a "flip-down message display" inside the cabin.
