Lynk & Co, has made a significant move into the European market with the launch of its new electric crossover, the 02. This model, which will also be sold in China as the Z20, marks the company's first electric vehicle for the European continent.
The 02 is a striking five-door crossover coupe with a sleek and aerodynamic design. Featuring split lighting units, an active shutter intake, and a panoramic glass roof, the 02 is sure to turn heads. The model also boasts a two-tone paint job, 19- or 20-inch wheels, flush-mounted door handles, and a prominent rear spoiler with integrated taillights.
One unique feature of the 02 is its "Hey Honk" function. This customizable sound allows for "friendly" interactions with pedestrians and other road users. Lynk & Co has found that pedestrians prefer this sound to the traditional, startling horn.
In terms of size, the 02 is comparable to the Toyota Corolla Cross, but with a longer wheelbase. The interior is minimalist yet stylish, featuring a two-tier dashboard, an aircraft-inspired steering wheel, and a large 15.4-inch infotainment system. The cabin also incorporates recycled and translucent materials for a sustainable and unique look.
The 02 is powered by a 66 kWh NMC lithium-ion battery and a rear-mounted electric motor. This combination allows for a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 5.5 seconds and a top speed of 180 km/h. The 02 can also travel up to 445 km on a single charge.
Safety is a priority for Lynk & Co, and the 02 comes equipped with a range of advanced safety features, including automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, and intelligent cruise control.
The Lynk & Co 02 is now available to order in Europe, with prices starting at €35,495 in Italy. The company's entry into the European market with this innovative electric crossover is a significant step in its global expansion.
