The Scorpio Classic, which features a new diesel engine and a number of external and interior changes, has been unveiled by Mahindra.
Although the Indian manufacturer unveiled the new Scorpio-N ladder-frame SUV with cutting-edge design and technology, customers can now choose the traditional model.
The Mahindra Scorpio was first released in 2002, and the 2022 facelift, known as the Scorpio Classic, commemorates the achievement.
The updated grille, which features Mahindra's new symbol and vertical chrome strips, is the primary styling improvement. A bigger aluminum-style skidplate and integrated DRLs in the front bumper complete the revamp of the front bumper. The new LED taillight graphics return to the vertical shape of a Scorpio model from before the facelift. 17-inch alloy wheels with diamond cuts are also available.
The interior's new 9-inch infotainment display, which adds smartphone connectivity to the mix, is the focal point. With quilted upholstery on the seats and wood accents on the center console, Mahindra chose a beige/black color scheme for the interior of the car in the photographs.
under the hood, the Scorpio Classic is not as powerful as the Scorpio-N. The new 2.2-liter mHawk diesel engine, which generates 130 hp and 300 Nm of torque, is the most significant improvement over the previous Scorpio. Although these numbers aren't too bad, the Scorpio N, which has 173 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque, clearly outperforms the traditional model. A new six-speed manual gearbox distributes power to all four wheels.
According to Mahindra, the new engine is 14 percent more efficient and 55 kg lighter than the outgoing one. Mahindra has also made improvements to the steering and suspension systems.
On August 20, Mahindra will reveal the Scorpio Classic's price. The SUV is anticipated to cost less than the Scorpio-N, which has a more contemporary appearance.
