BAIC’s premium electric sub-brand Arcfox has officially revealed the design of its upcoming A0-class hatchback, the Arcfox T1, marking its entry into the highly competitive and rapidly growing $10,000 pure electric vehicle (EV) market. Designed to bring a refreshing blend of style, efficiency, and technology to small urban EVs, the Arcfox T1 is set to begin pre-sales in late August and is expected to draw attention with its dynamic aesthetics and solid performance credentials.
The T1 adopts Arcfox’s signature design philosophy, referred to as the “Arc-Flow” concept, which emphasizes clean, aerodynamic lines and a sporty profile. When first previewed at the Shanghai Auto Show, the T1 gave hints of its bold styling, but the newly released official images confirm a more athletic and refined look. The vehicle features striking 18-inch multi-spoke aluminum alloy wheels, an uncommon feature in its class, which significantly enhances its sporty appeal and road presence. These wheels, along with the smooth side contours, contribute to a modern, sleek appearance that makes the T1 stand out in the budget EV segment.
Further contributing to its sporty image, the Arcfox T1 adopts a two-tone body color scheme, with a black-painted roof and A/B pillars, which adds visual depth and a sense of sophistication. At the rear, a stylized roof spoiler reinforces its youthful and performance-inspired character. Together, these design elements give the Arcfox T1 a premium feel rarely seen in cars at this price point.
Dimensionally, the Arcfox T1 measures 4,337 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width, and 1,572 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,770 mm, offering more space and stability than many of its immediate competitors. Underneath the bodywork, the T1 is powered by a single electric motor capable of producing up to 94 hp. The car is equipped with a Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery pack, sourced from CALB (China Aviation Lithium Battery Technology Group Co., Ltd.), a prominent supplier in the EV industry.
The Arcfox T1 will be available with two battery options—41.7 kWh and 42.3 kWh—delivering pure electric ranges of 410 km and 425 km, respectively, based on official data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). These figures place the T1 in direct competition with popular models like the Geely Xingyuan and BYD Seagull, which are priced similarly and posted strong sales in June, with 40,891 units and 30,708 units sold, respectively.
With its sleek design, strong performance specs for its class, and attractive pricing, the Arcfox T1 aims to challenge the status quo in the compact EV market. Its launch will not only expand Arcfox’s lineup but also signal BAIC’s determination to grab a larger share of China’s booming electric vehicle segment.
