Some days ago, Lamborghini published some photos of a roofless car on the field for testing through its Lamborghini Squadra Corse racing division. We were suspicious which model that car is. Now again on the futurecarsnow Instagram page is a new rendering of the same car, without roof and windows. This could be new design of the Track car.
Giving a closer look to this car, makes us partly sure that this is a model based on the Essenza SCV12’s. as Stefano Domenicali, CEO and chairman of Automobile Lamborghini tells about the Essenza SCV12:

As the photo shows there are no room for folding roof or even windows, it completely shows the speedster layout.
It is completely guarantied that you can not drive this on streets, because the based model Essenza SCV12 couldn’t do the same too.
Under the hood should be a V12 engine with 830-hp output and X-trac sequential six-speed gearbox. The original Essenza SCV12 has a power to weight ration of 1.66-hp per kilogram as the monocoque is made of fiber carbon. Now by omitting the roof the car could be much lighter, but don’t forget the reinforcement of the structural design can adds weight too.
On the other hand, the aerodynamics of the car is disturbed. The aerodynamics of the roofed model benefit from Lamborghini Squadra Corse’s GT racing experience and has a high downforce, but the roofless model, who can say yet!
