Prior Design Introduces A Wide Widebody Kit For The BMW X5

Author: |

Prior Design allows owners of the pre-facelifted BMW X5 to improve the appearance of their SUV. The kit is intended for the fourth-generation BMW X5 G05 with the M-Package, bringing it closer in appearance to the X5 M.

The tuner has a new widebody kit for the X5, which makes it look almost as sporty as the full-fledged X5 M. The BMW X5 received a front bonnet bulge that is purely cosmetic, as the engine underneath remains stock. Furthermore, the M-Package bumper has been retrofitted with carbon-style intake garnish and a pronounced splitter with a body-colored insert.

Prior Design chose a double spoiler design for the rear, combining one on the base of the rear window with a sizable roof spoiler extension. The front and rear fender extensions, which are the bodykit's standout feature, look best when paired with the optional larger-diameter multi-spoke alloy wheels and wider performance tires. A new, bigger diffuser that fits between the dual tailpipes completes the redesign.

With the exception of the full-blown M, the M50i's 4.4-liter V8 engine produces 523 horsepower and 750 Nm of torque, making it the most potent X5 before the facelift. This engine has been improved with a mild-hybrid system for the facelifted model. For the engine or suspension of the X5, Prior Design does not provide any tuning packages, thus interested parties should search elsewhere.

All BMW X5 G05 powertrain configurations that come factory-installed with the M-Package are compatible with the package. The X5 pieces are still being developed, thus Prior Design is taking pre-orders; hence, the computer-generated graphics showcasing the finished product. The cost, which can be requested, is not mentioned on the official website.
