Rugged Fiat Argo Endurance Revealed

The Fiat Argo was first launched in 2017 and underwent a facelift in 2022. This small hatchback shares its MLA platform with several other Fiat models, including the Chronos sedan, the Pulse SUV, and the Fastback coupe-SUV. Recently, Fiat introduced a new variant of the Argo in Brazil, specifically designed for more rugged, utilitarian use. This new version combines a basic, no-frills design with features like a raised suspension and specialized tires, making it ideal for agricultural purposes. This model is positioned as a competitor to the VW Polo Robust, which was also launched earlier this year and is similarly aimed at users needing a durable, practical vehicle.

2025 Fiat Argo Endurance

The new Fiat Argo variant, called the Argo Endurance, appears to be a more economical alternative to the Argo Trekking model. It lacks some of the features found on the Trekking, such as roof rails, fog lights, and decorative stickers, which contribute to its more stripped-down appearance. However, it does include essential rugged features like plastic cladding around the wheel arches and a piece of underbody protection designed to protect the crankcase on rough terrain. The Argo Endurance is fitted with 15-inch wheels and 205/60 R15 all-terrain tires, which enhance its capability on unpaved roads. Moreover, this model sits higher than the standard Argo, thanks to the suspension borrowed from the Trekking version. Fiat claims that the Argo Endurance offers a ground clearance of 186 mm, with an approach angle of 20.5 degrees and a departure angle of 33 degrees. These specifications are quite competitive, surpassing some smaller SUVs, which makes the Argo Endurance suitable for light off-road conditions.

Inside, the Argo Endurance maintains a simple and functional interior. The standard features include a 3.5-inch trip computer display within the instrument cluster, air conditioning with a pollen filter, front electric windows, remote locking, and an anti-theft alarm system. For those looking for a few additional conveniences, the optional Comfort Pack is available. This pack includes a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen, a USB charging port, fog lights, and parking sensors, providing a touch of modernity and convenience to the otherwise basic cabin.

Under the hood, the Argo Endurance is powered by a 1.3-liter Firefly Flex engine, which produces 106 horsepower and 134 Nm of torque. This "Flex" engine is capable of running on both gasoline and ethanol, which adds a layer of versatility, especially in regions where fuel availability may vary. The power from the engine is delivered to the front wheels through a five-speed manual transmission, aligning with the vehicle's straightforward, no-nonsense design ethos.

The Fiat Argo Endurance is currently offered at a discounted price of $14,545, making it the most affordable version of the Argo equipped with the 1.3-liter engine. This pricing strategy makes it an attractive option for buyers looking for a practical and economical vehicle that can handle a bit of rough terrain. In contrast, the more upscale Argo Trekking starts at $17,448 with the same engine and gearbox configuration, catering to those who might want a few more features and a slightly more refined look.

Fiat Argo Endurance

The introduction of the Argo Endurance broadens the appeal of the Fiat Argo lineup, offering a rugged, capable, and budget-friendly option for consumers who need a reliable vehicle for both urban and rural environments.
