Hyundai was due to launch the 2022 Elantra N on July 14, but the news came out sooner than due time. As expected, shares many components with the i30 N hot hatch. The photos are from Hyundai, who inadvertently issued a notice about forthcoming Elantra N events.
Exterior pictures of the Elantra N were included in the announcement, showcasing muscular front and rear fascias on the brilliant blue car. The Elantra is a finely designed vehicle with noticeable sheet metal creases. The Elantra N is no exception, embracing angles even more. The front bumper appears to be more sporty, which complements the model's low, broad grille design.
The lower diffuser at the back is unique, holding a pair of large-dual exhaust ports. Another difference we can see is the installation of a spoiler. Against the black trim, the red accents around the body edges stand out.
The car is powered by Hyundai's renowned 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which features a 5 mm bigger turbine wheel and produces 276 horsepower and 392 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with an eight-speed wet dual-clutch gearbox. The Elantra N does not come with a manual gearbox.
When the N Grin Shift mode is used, the engine's boost pressure is raised, increasing power to 285 hp and accelerating the vehicle to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds.
